At first, I think it is a photograph. Only after a moment do I notice the slight movement of a woman’s hand standing at the machine, perhaps 8 hours a day, 48 a week, 576 a year in stillness. I don’t know how to call it anything other than a sense of the beauty of the incredible phenomenon that is life, transience, irreversibility and empathy towards. I turn away, already absorbed by another image, but in my mind I see her standing at the same machine, another day. Let’s hope I’m wrong.
