Grzegorz Hańderek [Poland] Black
installation
Rybny Square
dedicated to Grażyna Chrostowska
The work refers to the Old Testament text of the double sacrifice of brothers, resulting in the first biblical crime. The work is made from the ashes of coal and grapes, symbolising the brothers Cain and Abel. The two ashes, by being rubbed into the surface of the stone, intermingle to form a common and ephemeral whole, which, like memory, is not permanent. The installation is ephemeral in nature and assumes a slow dematerialisation through atmospheric factors.
mark the spot
where an object stood
that no longer exists
with a black square
it will be
simple train
about a beautiful absentee
