Anna Kołacka [Poland] Shapes of Nano
series of paintings
ORION building, 2 Spokojna Street
The Shapes of NANO project is a juxtaposition of three large-format paintings made in acrylic and oil on canvases measuring 150 x 180 cm. The half-tones come from the NANO series. The realisation is an abstraction inspired by the world of the smallest particles in nature, expressed in the nano (n) unit, and refers to the imagined beauty of the smallest particles of organic matter. Amorphous shapes of various sizes are suspended in – absorbing 99.6 per cent, black. It is a vision of the world on a micro- and macro-scale, and a reference to the fine brushstrokes with which she paints the structures in the individual paintings.
