In all cultures there is some kind of unattainable sacrum, a feeling of a higher power that distracts us from everyday life, distracts us, is a projection of some ideal, beauty, necessity. The feeling of some higher sense, becomes the environment in which our everyday life is inscribed.

ALEKSANDRA MROZOWSKA

She is a graduate of the Faculty of Painting and New Media at the Academy of Arts in Szczecin 2018. Her main areas of interest are painting, photography, artist’s book and the creation of installations and sculptural objects. Her works often deal with the issue of immigration resulting from political, social or religious conflicts. The realisations of the works are the result of an analysis of the various countermeasures applied by European countries in relation to the crisis and their actual effects. The main motivation for the themes taken up is the artist’s personal experience of life as an émigré – the experience of being a ‘stranger’, which has been creatively reworked and gradually catalysed in the form of paintings or spatial objects.
